Guests are greeted in an elegant hallway with chandeliers and oak parquet flooring. An ornamental double stairway winds upwards, past a large stained glass window, to the guest rooms. Westaway has a lounge bar with leather furnishings, wood flooring and a wide screen digital television. Our large rooms are centrally heated with all the facilities you'd expect, plus much more, and you are also welcome to make use of our licensed lounge bar, sun terrace, and recreation areas. Ilfracombe harbour and beach, shops, parks, Landmark Theatre, restaurants, pubs and nightlife are all within walking distance of Westaway. From the harbour you can while away the hours fishing, or take a boat trip to view the North Devon coast and Exmoor from the sea. Or why not spend a day on Lundy Island where you may catch sight of seals, basking sharks and dolphins. From the Tourist Information Centre located at the nearby Landmark Centre day trips can be booked to many West Country destinations, including Clovelly, The Eden Project, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Torquay, etc. Boat trips can also be booked at the Tourist Information Centre or down at the harbour. The RHS gardens at Rosemoor, Dartington Crystal, outlet shopping at Atlantic Village and many other attractions are within easy reach for a day out. Barnstaple, North Devon's largest town, is a short drive or bus ride from Ilfracombe. Don't forget the excellent surfing at Croyde and Woolacombe (need to wash your surfboards afterwards? no problem, use our facilities), the spectacular North Devon coastline, picturesque villages of Mortehoe and Lee, and the famous Tarka Trail with its miles of unique, safe cycle tracks.
