When you do manage to tear yourself away from the comforts of your room, you'll find a wealth of distractions right on our doorstep. Pop next door to The Tunnels Beaches and explore their Victorian history, stroll along the seafront and catch the atmosphere, sit in a seafront café and enjoy a leisurely coffee watching the world go by. Amble down to the harbour and watch the boats, and browse in The Driftwood Art Gallery before dropping in to Damien Hirst's restaurant for tapas and to view some of his famous artwork. Walk in the beautifully maintained parks and gardens; just along the road from Westaway the Ilfracombe Museum offers a fascinating trip into the past; the list is endless, the choice is yours. The cliff top walk to Lee is in one direction and Combe Martin in the other. Lynton and Lynmouth is a day's walk for the brave. The spectacular scenery of Exmoor, one of the top Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the British Isles with its walks, picnic areas and country pubs is twenty minutes away by car. |
